A group of researchers led by Purdue University began using Google Earth to know the degree of pollution emissions occur in the United States.
Digital map with a capacity of high-resolution image can indicate carbon dioxide emissions in metric tons in the housing and commercial of U.S. . As quoted by Reuters, Sunday (22/2/2009).
This is certainly a matter that useful for scientists, to learn from the sector where carbon emissions spent many, including the aircraft sector, commercial production of electricity, industry, housing, and transportation.
“This will bring emissions information can be known by many people. It can be accessed online,” said Kevin Gurney, the leader of the project and assistant professor earth and atmospheric sciences at Purdue University.
“With innovations such as this, we hope, can bring people to know the importance of pollution that they create themselves,” said Kevin Gurney.
