The number of installed programs that you will become increasingly difficult for you to find what you want. Therefore, you can use Launchy, a simple program, but the programs that are useful rather than have to look one by one from the dozens of programs on the Start menu.
Launchy operate using the keyboard. You can activate it by pressing Alt-Space (or hotkey combinations according to your selection), and stay type the first few letters of the program you want to run. For example to run Google’s Picasa, just type “pic” and then press Enter. For iTunes, just type “is.” For Excel you can type “ex”. Most of you can find what you are looking for with 2 or 3 letters, although sometimes you have to type a few letters anymore.
Launchy can also operate for a list of favorite web address. In fact, this program can index the files, so you can run a Word document or iTunes music with just some typing. If all this does not feel strange, this is because Microsoft adds the same functionality in the start menu in Windows Vista.
