Research conducted by researchers from Vienna University of Technology stated, the materials to make fireworks, such as barium and strontium, which explode in the air will enter atmosphere. This will cause air pollution, especially in the area of the snow.

“We find a lot of barium in the snow with a concentration 500 times stronger than the snow conditions before the eruption of fireworks” said Steinhauser.
