Toshiba plans to launch laptop battery that can be in-charge in only a few minutes only. Japanese Electronics Company that is designing a prototype Super Charge Ion Batteries (SCiB), Laptops battery are more durable and able to fill 90 percent of batteries capacity only in ten minutes.
As cited by PC World, Friday (3/10/2008), SCiB claimed has the ability more than other laptop Lithium-ion battery. A battery is not only durable but also safe, because it is not flammable. The Toshiba said, SCiB made from materials with the level of stability so that the high temperature will not flammable.
In addition, Toshiba also states, making battery capable charged during 5000 up to 6000 times. Prototype SCiB will be shown to the public at the Ceatec exhibition in Chiba, Japan, which began on 30 September.
At the exhibition, Toshiba place the SCiB on the Dynabook. Exhibitions Visitors will be presented demonstrations laptop battery charging super fast.
SCiB actually have been introduced since last year, but Toshiba to create new applications specific to the industrial world. Battery is used in Cannondale electrical bicycle in Europe and the United States.
Nevertheless, Toshiba can not ensure, whether SCiB able to increase sales and market of laptop battery.
